Excellent place to stay and with out doubt one of the best breakfast's I have had anywhere ....the sausages were to die for! Location was great for what we wanted and in Maxine you have a wonderful host.
Unusual and interesting conversion of an old school house. Comfortable and well appointed. Tasteful if slightly "quirky" style. Friendly hosts with good local knowledge. Excellent breakfast with local, good quality products. Delicious homemade bread and conserves.
The hospitallity was exceptional lovely place nice decor friendly atmosphere
The matress was extremely firm which was uncomfortable for us both as we have a memory foam mattress at home, so not a good nights sleep
The Old School House is in a very tranquil position, set in beautiful surroundings an ideal spot for a romantic break. The interior is done to a very high standard with all the facilities you require. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, and the food is top class, could not fault it any way, my only grumble would be that we couldn't stay any longer.
The room and breakfast both stood out
It was a little dark
A warm welcome awaited us when we arrived. We were shown to a lounge area which was stunning and so relaxing. The owners have two beautiful cats which we fell in love with, we didnt want to go to our rooms initially as we felt so comfortable and relaxed. The room was lovely and light and airy, windows in the ceiling, kingsize bed, good sized fridge, fresh milk, tea and coffee, luxury. We only stayed one night but we would have liked to have stayed longer.
If we had to say anything negative it would be the check in time of 1700, we felt we would have liked it a bit earlier so that we could have settled in and got freshened up earlier.
Great stay in a unique building, great hospitality and superb evening meal, also a great full English breakfast. We would definately stay here again.
Very friendly, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, free parking, OSG was a very pleasant and clean B&B.
The Old School House is ideally located for visiting and exploring the Devon area. The facilities are very comfortable, spotlessly clean and nicely furnished. The owners are friendly, gracious and very helpful. They genuinely take an interest in their guests and do whatever they can to make them feel welcome. The free WiFi is good and the parking is convenient. The meals are excellent and it is obvious that Chris, one of the owners and chef, has had formal training in the culinary arts. Make sure that you ask him to make you pancakes and forget about the calories. Maxine, the other member of the team and co-owner, is one of those, "salt of the earth people" and you will be better for having met her. We hope to be back sometime for another stay and visit.
Made very welcome. Lovely surroundings and excellent accomodation. Good site for touring the moors. We came to relax and that is just what this hotel gave us the chance to do. Very comfortable, quiet and luxourious.
Nothing wrong or disliked at all.
Quiet location with easy access to Dartmoor and the coast and cycle routes. Owners very welcoming , friendly and helpful. The guesthouse was well laid out and kept very clean. Breakfasts were delicious.
Very friendly and hospitable and good food. Well appointed bedrooms and lounge. We thought good value for money.
Really friendly owners who are very attentive to guests needs. Excellent room and very good full english breakfast. Whatmore could a traveller want?
Stayed in this charming B & B for 2 days. Lovely surroundings and in a quite location. Perfect for exploring Dartmoor. There was a nice place to sit outside. The room was spacious and very clean, it also had a fridge. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was cooked to perfection. Free wi-fi and parking. We would definitely stay there again when visiting the area.
We had a lovely stay at the Old School Guesthouse, and our hostess was lovely. Spotless room and very spacious with skylights and fridge. Breakfast was lovely and the building is beautiful. Not to mention the free wifi in rooms.
